In order to counter some of the awful books written by parents of autistics about their children, and some of the awful books about Autism written by non-autistic professionals, for the month of April I’m going to be reviewing books by Autistic authors.
Some are memoirs, some are books about Autism, some are anthologies, some are novels. So many great authors, writing about all sorts of things, but the thread that binds them all is that the authors are autistic.
I want the world to see that autistic people can be great writers and storytellers and that though we might have similar traits, there is also a great variety to our tales.
So, welcome to my Autistic Readathon. I will post one review a day. Or maybe more, as I’m having a very hard time choosing only thirty books. I hope you too can read at least a few of these books. Come join me on my journey….
