Disability Day of Mourning 2020.

Edit: For some reason I thought today was March 1st. So, Disability Day of Mourning was actually yesterday and I missed it. Still better late than never, right?

Today is Disability Day of Mourning, where we remember those disabled people who were murdered by their parents or caregivers.

Right now I have a terrible headache. The kind that threatens to remain with me all day. Brought on by a routine but still stressful visit to the hospital this morning.

But I didn’t want to let the day get by me without at least acknowledging it.

Here is a post I wrote in 2016 on the topic.

As you can see, nothing has really changed since then.

Here is the official website for the Disability Day of Mourning.

And this one is specific for autistic people.

You can find a lot more if you google, including details of vigils being held across the world and online.
