I’ve been thinking about metaphors for energy and resources, out of a desire to get away from “Spoon Theory” and also to better express my recent experiences. And while I do like the “Battery” analogy, I’ve been veering more towards the concept of “Steam”.
It’s not fully fleshed out or anything but revolves around the metaphor of “running out of steam”. Of closing valves and needing time to “build up steam”. And incorporating the concept of “letting off steam”.
Not saying that humans are Victorian industrial era machines or anything! Just struck me as a word and concept that’s useful to describe my experiences.
And right now I’ve definitely lost my steam. Taking longer than I’d like to build it up again but I just need to be patient. And keep feeding the fire!
